Oroluk ( Oroluk Island ) is the name of the only island in the Oroluk Atoll of the same name in the northwest of the Federated States of Micronesia , part of Pohnpei .
The island, which has an oval plan and a land area of 13 hectares , was discovered by the French captain P. Saliz in 1826 and was originally called Ile de gordelaise . Later the island was sometimes called San Augustin or St. Augustine Island .
On the now uninhabited island there is only an automatic weather station .
