Orphei Drängar , or commonly called OD ( Sångsällskapet Orphei Drängar ), is a Swedish male choir. Orphei Drängar was founded in December 1853 near Uppsala University . The choir gives several concerts a year, and since 1962 the Caprice in the university auditorium . The choir has given concerts in around 30 countries, in Germany for the first time in 1892.
Since 2008 the choir has been led by Cecilia Rydinger Alin . Her main job is to train orchestral conductors at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm , where she works as a professor. Cecilia Rydinger Alin is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music .
