Orthocarbonic acid ester

Orthocarbonic acid esters are organic chemical substances of the general formula C (OR) 4 and, depending on the organyl radical R, mostly colorless liquids with a pleasant odor that are only slowly hydrolyzed by water . They are formally derived from the orthocarbonic acid C (OH) 4 , which does not exist in free form .
