The local chapel in Fluttendorf , also known as the Fluttendorf village chapel , is a listed ( list entry ), Roman Catholic mass chapel in the village of Fluttendorf in the market town of Mooskirchen in western Styria . Its history goes back to the beginning of the 19th century. It is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew .

Location

The chapel is located in the village of Fluttendorf, southeast of the main town of Mooskirchen, directly at the intersection of the two state roads L340 and L667, opposite the house at Fluttendorf 21.

history

The chapel was built from 1817 to 1828. Although the construction was decided by the village community, disputes soon arose among the residents, which delayed the construction work for several years. The construction work could only be completed after the local pastor Joseph Sattler had made the promise to apply to the prince-bishop for a measuring license . On May 16, 1830, the chapel was consecrated to St. Bartholomew by the dean Michael Scherz . In the following year, the chapel received a mass license to hold Holy Mass on Bartholomew's Day (August 24th) and on a day of the Octave . In addition, since the 19th century leads a procession on Bittmittwoch , the Wednesday before Ascension of the parish Mooskirchen after Fluttendorf. Parts of the chapel had to be repaired as early as 1847. On August 25, 1861, a way of the cross in the chapel was consecrated. In 1863 further repairs were carried out on the building and in 1874 the building was completely renovated.

In 1917, another renovation was necessary as the vault had sunk. On May 31, 1959, after another renovation, a memorial plaque was unveiled for those who died in the war. After further restoration work, the mess chapel was inaugurated on August 28, 1977. The same thing happened on August 24, 1989 and August 26, 2000.
