Riegers local chapel
The Roman Catholic Riegers chapel is located in the village of Riegers in the Dobersberg municipality in the Waidhofen an der Thaya district in Lower Austria . It is dedicated to the feast of the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the parish Dobersberg in the deanery Waidhofen an der Thaya in the quarter above the Manhartsberg of the diocese of St. Pölten . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The small church was built in 1851. On June 12, 2015, the newly renovated church was blessed by the pastor of Doberberg, Gerhard Swierzek.
architecture
Church exterior
The small, post -baroque church is a building framed with corner stones with faceted round arched windows. The semicircular apse is drawn in. Above the entrance facade is a roof turret with an onion helmet .
Church interior
The interior of the church has a grooved flat ceiling that rests on stucco pilasters . The gallery is made of wood.
Furnishing
The small high altar was built in the form of a stucco pilaster altar on the apse wall. On the cafeteria there is a rococo piece with a relief group of images of grace. This depicts St. Mary with the baby Jesus in conical robes from the middle of the 19th century. Above it hangs a picture of St. Mary with child. The carved statuettes of St. Mary were created in the style of the early 18th century. A Pietà from the third quarter of the 18th century stands on a rococo plinth. In addition, there is a Gothic figure group of St. Mary with child in the church.
