The Wila local museum is a Zurich memory institution with a public mandate to collect cultural heritage . It is dedicated to the history of Wila in the canton of Zurich and has been located in the center of the village since 2010 in a historic building from the 16th / 17th century. Century.

Collection and exhibitions

The collection includes objects, written testimonials and photos from rural business and life. The local museum runs and maintains a private archive with collections from associations, cooperatives, local trades and estates that are important for local history. Since 2014, the Wila local museum has maintained regional cooperation in the form of traveling exhibitions with the Turbenthal Local Museum Association and the Weisslingen Historical Association. Traveling exhibitions on the subjects of tailoring, basket making, social welfare in the Tösstal 1816–2016, churches in the central Tösstal and inns have been held for the communities of Wila and Turbenthal. Since 2018, the Wila local museum has been cooperating with the Ballenberg Foundation in research on a building of the same age as the local museum building, which has been a farmhouse in Ballenberg since 1980 .
