Wila is a municipality in the Pfäffikon district in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .

The coat of arms was adopted from the shield of the Lords of Breiten-Landenberg in 1926 .
geography
Wila is located in the Töss Valley between the municipalities of Turbenthal and Bauma . In the east, the municipality borders on the canton of Thurgau and in the west on the municipality of Wildberg . Hamlets in the vicinity of Wila are: Schalchen (SW), Tablat (SO), Aegetswil (O), Au (S) and Sitzberg (NO). 38.3% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 51% is forest, 6.4% is inhabited and 2.9% is used for transport.
history
During archaeological excavations on the occasion of the church renovation from 1978–1980, traces of a wooden church from the 7th to 8th centuries were found. The first documentary mention can be found in a tax sled of the Diocese of Constance from 1275.
The lords of width Landsberg possessed long time Kollatur and until 1796 the lower courts.
The Wila local museum was established in 2010.

Schwarz Sprengtechnik AG was known nationwide . It was inextricably linked with the name of the founder and owner Günter Schwarz and went bankrupt in 2005. The successor is called Schwarz Spreng- und Felsenbau AG .
Public transport
The S 26 Winterthur - Bauma - Rüti ZH of the S-Bahn Zurich runs from Wila . Since December 2018 the S 11 Aarau - Lenzburg - Dietikon - Zurich HB - Stettbach - Winterthur - Seuzach / Sennhof-Kyburg (- Wila ) of the S-Bahn Zurich has been running to the Wila stop during rush hour . From this point several Postbus lines operate:
