Hittnau is a municipality in the Pfäffikon district of the Swiss canton of Zurich . The municipalities include Ober- and Unterhittnau, Isikon, Hasel, Dürstelen, Schönau and Hofhalden .
Geography and history
Hittnau was first mentioned in a document as Hittenouva in 905. It is located in the Zurich Oberland above the Pfäffikersee , on the connecting road between the Glatttal and the Tösstal . The Kempt is the first village to flow through the village after its source. The highest point in the community is the Stoffel at 928 m above sea level. M., the lowest point the community has at Tobelweiher at 604 m above sea level. M. The municipality is mostly located on its western foothills. 48.1% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 37.3% is covered with forest, 3.5% is traffic area and 9.5% is settlement area, 0.4% is water.
