Oruro Royal is a Bolivian football club from Oruro .
history
The Oruro Foot Ball Club , founded on May 26, 1896, is the oldest football club in Bolivia. It originated within the Bolivian railway company The Bolivian Railway Limited , which at that time employed some English technicians who also obtained the first jerseys. Ricardo Ramos was elected the first club president.
In 1907 Alberto Sarti acquired a site on which the club's first football pitch was built. In the same year the name of the club was expanded to include the name Royal .
When the Bolivian national soccer team took part in the soccer World Cup, which was held in neighboring Uruguay for the first time in 1930 , Oruro Royal had five players in the Bolivian World Cup squad, more players than any other club in Bolivia. One of them was the most famous player in the club's history, Jesús Bermúdez , who was in the Bolivians' goal in both games (0: 4 each against Yugoslavia and Brazil). The Estadio Jesús Bermúdez , where the club plays its home games, is named after him. The information about its capacity vary from 28,000 to 33,000 and 35,000 to 39,000.
