Oscar Blando (born February 7, 1924 in Rome , † April 16, 1994 in Capri ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Blando was working as a lifeguard in Ostia when he was discovered by Renato Castellani , who, like all neo-realistic directors, was looking for new, unused faces from the street, and was hired for the lead role in Under the Sun of Rome . In it he portrayed the youth of Ciro, always on the threshold of crime, first oppressed by the fascists, then liberated by the allies. Blando's career was continued with the similar but more conventional Vent'anni by Giorgio Bianchi . Then he tried his hand at the revue theater, where he worked in Nuvole alongside greats like Nino Taranto, Marisa Vernati , Enzo Turco and Kiki Urbani played. The great career did not materialize, however; after decreasing roles in average films, he continued to do various photo novels for a few years before turning his back on acting.
