Oscar Ramos

Óscar Milton Ramos Fernández is a Uruguayan diplomat .

Oscar Ramos has worked in the private sector in a variety of roles in Uruguayan, Peruvian, Brazilian and Colombian companies. He was a member of the Cámara de Fabricantes de Componentes Automotores and the Cámara de Industriales Automotrices del Uruguay .

Ramos was appointed Uruguayan Ambassador to Venezuela on December 23, 2010 as the successor to Jorge Mazzarovich, who left office on December 6, 2010 . Appointments of ambassadors in Uruguay are regularly limited in time. The mandate for Oscar Ramos Fernández in Caracas ended in February 2016. The government of Tabaré Vázquez proposed Carlos Barros Oreiro as his successor, which, however, did not find favor with the Maduro government. In April 2017, the Maduro government announced its agrément for the appointment of Alberto Leopoldo Fajardo Klappenbach as ambassador to Caracas. Alberto Leopoldo Fajardo became Ambassador to Santiago de Chile in August 2018 .

He is married to Graciela Martinez.

During the general election in Venezuela in 2015 , he represented the Consejo Electoral (Electoral Council) of the Union of South American Nations .
