EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (often: Oshkosh Airshow ) is a seven-day air show held annually from the last Monday in July at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin . The organizer is the Experimental Aircraft Association .
The first aviation meeting organized by the EAA took place in Milwaukee in 1953 . From 1959 these meetings took place in Rockford (Illinois) . Due to the steadily growing popularity, this place also became too small, so in 1970 they went to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The original name was The EAA Annual Convention and Fly-In . Originally it was a meeting of the EAA members. However, when this restriction was lifted, the name was changed to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 1998 .
The event is considered the largest aviation exhibition for private aircraft. Over 800 exhibitors, up to 16,000 aircraft and over 600,000 visitors were registered. The airport control tower is considered to be the most controlled aircraft movement in the world during the event.
