Curt Beckmann
Curt Beckmann (born April 26, 1901 in Solingen , † January 1, 1970 in Düsseldorf ) was a German sculptor .
Life
Curt Beckmann studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf and was a master student of Hubert Netzer and Langer.
He was a member of the Rheinische Sezession , in Das Junge Rheinland , in the artists' association Malkasten , in the West German Artists' Association and in the German Artists' Association .
Curt Beckmann was married twice and had six children. His second wife, the painter Babette Beckmann from Hamburg, died on May 28, 2011.
After the war, Curt Beckmann lived for some time in a studio in Hamburg-Alsterdorf , where he was in close contact with Wolfgang Borchert's family . He named the protagonist from his drama Outside the Door after Beckmann.
