Hubert Netzer
Hubert Netzer (born October 5, 1865 in Isny im Allgäu ; † October 15, 1939 in Munich ) was a German sculptor , medalist and university teacher .
Live and act
Netzer was the son of an Allgäu gilder and attended the Munich Art Academy from 1890 . There he was a student of Adolf von Hildebrand , Johannes Hoffart and Wilhelm von Rümann .
Netzer taught from 1911 at the Düsseldorf School of Applied Arts , which was merged into the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1919 . Netzer had made a name for himself by designing a number of fountains in Munich, including the Triton Fountain in 1893, the Narzissbrunnen in 1897, the Nornenbrunnen in 1907 and the Jonas Fountain in 1910. In the "Class for Sculpture" at the School of Applied Arts under the direction of Wilhelm Kreis , Netzer taught the use of sculpture and painting in architecture .
Hubert Netzer was a member of the German Association of Artists . His students included Arno Breker , Hans Meyers , Ernst Gottschalk , Curt Beckmann , Ferdinand Heseding and Willi Hoselmann .
He is the father of the painter, graphic artist and art writer Remigius Netzer (1916–1985).

- 1915/1921: Siegfried monument on the Ehrenfriedhof in Duisburg-Kaiserberg (designed in 1915, cast in 1919, erected in 1921)
- 1918/1925: Revision of the Blitzeschleuder (design exhibited in Berlin in 1918, cast in bronze by the Gustav Schmäke foundry (Düsseldorf) in 1924/1925 , 1926–1974 in the south curve of the Düsseldorf Rheinstadion , since 2004 in the roundabout on Heinz-Ingenstau-Straße In Dusseldorf)
- 1921: Memorial stone with Sphinx relief "The thinking of the victims of January 10, 1919, erected by the city of Düsseldorf" ( Spartacus uprising ), North Cemetery Düsseldorf
- 1921: Sensing Klio (also mourning muse ) with medallion (bust relief) of miner Hermann Brassert in Bonn at the old customs
