Ferdinand Heseding

Ferdinand Heseding (born June 28, 1893 in Huckingen ; † May 27, 1961 in Düsseldorf ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Heseding attended high school in Duisburg until secondary school and then switched to the Düsseldorf School of Applied Arts . The First World War interrupted his training. After his service, Heseding enrolled at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf . He completed his training as a sculptor and became a student of Hubert Netzer .

From 1925 Ferdinand Heseding lived and worked in Düsseldorf as a freelance sculptor. His work includes:

There are also baptismal fonts, patron saints and tabernacle reliefs in several churches in and around Duisburg. Religious motifs can be found more often in his works of art. It was only in the last years of his creativity that he broke away from the representational art direction and created works with only sketchy outlines.

Ferdinand Heseding died on May 27, 1961 in Düsseldorf- Lohausen and is also buried there.
