Reception of his art education theory today

Meyer's art pedagogical approaches are still effective today in art pedagogical theory formation. However, its effect is not undisputed. Members of the IMAGO research association praise it as an example of well-founded concept development and use it as a role model. On the other hand, his unclear delimitation of thoughts from his time as a trainer in times of National Socialism is viewed particularly critically.
