Oskar Messter Medal
The Oskar Messter Medal is an award for scientists and technicians who have made special contributions to promoting cinema technology . It is a commemorative coin with an engraved portrait of the German film pioneer Oskar Messter . The first prize winner was the namesake himself in 1927 after the medal was donated on the occasion of his 60th birthday on November 21, 1926. The Oskar Messter Medal was first awarded by the German Kinotechnical Society and then by its successor, the Television and Cinema Technical Society .
