Oskar Arendt

Oskar Arendt (born November 15, 1878 in Danzig ; † after 1944 ) was a German engineer and writer.

Life

He was the son of the businessman Rudolph Arendt and his wife Marie nee Michaelis. After attending the secondary school St. Peter and Paul in Gdansk, Oskar Arendt studied at the Technical University of Charlottenburg as well as at the universities of Berlin and Jena. From October 1, 1899, he worked as an engineer in the Wernerwerk of Siemens & Halske AG. In addition, he worked as an editor for technical magazines, for example for the Technical Week , for Heliois , for Elektrowelt and for Elektrowoche .

In 1915 he received his doctorate from the University of Jena to Dr. phil. The topic of his dissertation was: On the temporal course of the adsorption of colloids on crystals . From 1919 he worked as a patent attorney and sworn expert in Berlin. He specialized in commercial legal protection. In 1927 he moved his office to Kurfürstendamm.

In 1916 he applied for a patent for a metal briquette press.

He was a co-founder of the German editorial associations and the Reich Association of the German Press, founded in 1910 .

family

In 1905 Oskar Arendt married Deborah, the daughter of the businessman Otto Herfert and his wife Alberta nee Habermann. The children Gunther (* 1906) and Dora (* 1908) emerged from their marriage.
