Oskar heart

Oskar Herz (born September 18, 1866 in Csorna ( Hungary ); declared dead after deportation in 1941 in 1947) was a Lower Austrian entrepreneur and local politician in the market town of Guntramsdorf .

Career

From 1875 the Wilhelm and Bertha Herz family lived with their sons Oskar and Victor, tenants of the estate, in the market town of Guntramsdorf. Oskar Herz later took over the family business and at times employed up to 200 people.

Herz was heavily involved in local politics and was also a councilor for the market town of Guntramsdorf. In 1900 he was considered the most important business operator in his home community. Among other things, he was the owner and operator of the Guntramsdorfer dairy, the Herz-Mühle, today Assmannmühle, and in addition to the aforementioned estate, he was also the tenant of the Richardhof in the Anninger area.

From 1901 to 1919, Herz was a member of the Guntramsdorf municipal council for three consecutive terms.

In 1920 he was granted honorary citizenship in Guntramsdorf for "notable services .. in the field of public welfare", but withdrawn again in 1938 "because it contradicted National Socialist principles". In neither of the minutes of the meeting are there any details about the award or withdrawal.

According to the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien , Herz was deported to Minsk on November 28, 1941 . At the instigation of his son Wilhelm, he was pronounced dead in Austria in 1947.
