Oskar Hoffmann (politician, 1838)

Oskar Hoffmann (* 1838 ; † 1909 ) was miners' union director and from 1880 to 1909 city councilor for the city of Bochum . From 1882 he was a member of the board of directors of Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG alongside Emil Kirdorf and Arthur Lindenberg . He was a member of the Bochum Freemason Lodge To the Three Rosebuds .

In 1929, "Oskar-Hoffmann-Strasse" was named after him in Bochum. There is a station with his name on the underground line 35 , which went into operation in November 1993 .
