Oskar Huemer

Oskar Huemer (born August 31, 1916 in Lasberg ; † March 30, 1993 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( VdU / SPÖ ) and civil servant. From 1949 to 1953 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

After elementary school, Huemer attended the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster and then switched to the grammar school of the Schlierbach Abbey , where he passed the Matura in 1936. He then studied law at the University of Vienna and worked professionally as a finance officer at the Linz Regional Finance Directorate. From 1949 he was a member of the federal board of the Association of Independents and chairman of the regional committee for trade union and social policy in Upper Austria. He represented his party in the National Council from November 8, 1949, but was not a member of the club from February 18, 1950 until his departure on March 18, 1953. He was later from 1963 to 1968 a member of the SPÖ and from 1980 a member of the Association of Socialist Academics . Huemer was buried at the Baumgartner Friedhof (group 21, row 218).
