Osman Öcalan (* 1958 in Ömerli in the province of Urfa ) is the younger brother of Abdullah Öcalan . He was a high-ranking functionary of the underground organization Workers' Party of Kurdistan . His code name was Ferhat .

Life

At the end of 1980 Osman Öcalan left Turkey and worked for the organization in Iran for a long time. At the 4th party congress of the PKK in 1990, he moved up to the top. In the so-called Southern War between the PKK and the Kurdish Peshmerga of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Democratic Party of Kurdistan , Osman Öcalan commanded the eastern units of the PKK. Against the will of high officials and especially against the resistance of Murat Karayılan and Abdullah Öcalan, he reached an agreement with the Kurdish parties on a peace agreement. As a result, Öcalan was later disempowered and sentenced to death as a "renegade" at the 5th Party Congress in 1995. However, the sentence was not carried out and was converted into labor service ( Emek süreci ).

In 1998 Osman Öcalan was rehabilitated and took on important tasks within the underground organization, especially after his brother was arrested. In 2004 Osman married Öcalan, violating a PKK taboo that prohibits any sexual or romantic relationships among its cadres. Osman Öcalan separated from the PKK during the same period and founded the “Patriotic Democratic Party” (PWD), from which he soon turned away. Osman Öcalan lives in Northern Iraq and is the father of two sons.

At the meeting in the prison on November 9, 2013 with the HDP delegation, Cemil Bayık was accused by Abdullah Öcalan of failing to kill Osman Öcalan. Osman behaved so wickedly that he should have been killed. The USA, Israel and Iran had their fingers in the game.
