An Ottoman leg armor , in Turkish budluk , is an early modern protective weapon from the Ottoman Empire .

description

An Ottoman leg harness is usually made of steel . It's a mix of plate armor and chain armor . The steel plates on this armor are available in different sizes, the smaller ones are lamellar armor that overlaps one another and is attached in vertical rows. The individual plates are connected to one another with chain fabric. The knee protection consists of a round plate which is driven into a bowl . For versions with larger, rectangular plates, these are connected with chain fabric or hinges , depending on their position on the armor . They protect the wearer's legs from the thighs to below the knee joint. There are different versions.
