Osmund Hansen

Osmund Hansen (born March 23, 1908 in Skovshoved (now Copenhagen ), † July 22, 1995 in Skovshoved) was a Danish painter and graphic artist .

Osmund Hansen began training at the office of the North Zealand Electricity and Railway Company (NESA) at the age of 15 and studied painting at the Hellerup Technical School, the Folmer Bonnéns School of Painting and the Statens Croquis School in Copenhagen from 1926 to 1930. From 1933 he designed and designed advertising posters and interior furnishings for his employer NESA. In 1944, with the support of the company's management, he founded Denmark's first company art company. His first own exhibition was in 1946 in Charlottenborg Palace / Copenhagen. In 1977 he was appointed to Rome as chairman of the Scandinavian Artists Society. In 1978 an exhibition of his own pictures followed in the Danish Academy in Rome . After 1980 Osmund Hansen was involved in numerous international exhibitions and trade fairs. In 1991 his works were presented for the first time in Germany.

Osmund Hansen is one of the most important constructivists in the Scandinavian region and is internationally recognized. He is considered the master of soft squares. Although the pictures are abstract paintings, they still refer to nature. The painter seeks his inspiration in nature and in the immediate environment.
