from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Osovský von Doubravitz , also Osowsky von Doubrawitz , Czech: Osovští z Doubravice , was an old Moravian noble family , which probably became meaningless in the 16th century.

The knight Zbyněk z Doubravice , named after the village Doubravice near Boskowitz , who took part in the army campaigns of John of Luxembourg , is assumed to be the ancestor . Doubravice was sold towards the end of the 14th century and in 1415 the Osova fortress was acquired. Later they bought Hrottowitz , Říčany , Kamnitz , Červená Lhota and Luka. They belonged to the representatives of the Hussites and of King George of Podebrady . With Smil Osovský z Doubravice , the family died out in 1613. Katharina von Waldstein († 1637), the widow of Smil Osovský z Doubravice, married Karl Herr von Zierotin in 1614 .
