Osterley Park is a former mansion in the London borough of Hounslow . It is now owned by the National Trust and can be viewed.

The house was built in Tudor style in 1562 for Sir Thomas Gresham , a financial advisor to Elizabeth I. In 1711 the banker and Lord Mayor of London Sir Francis Child bought the property. His grandson (also named Francis Child) commissioned Robert Adam to redesign the mansion in 1761 . Adam added a portico supported by high double columns in the middle part of the existing red brick building and its four corner towers and a double flight of stairs on the park side. A total work of art was created inside: Robert Adam designed ceilings, walls, floors, doors, carpets, mirrors and furniture. Along with Kenwood House and Syon House , Osterley Park is one of Adam's most important works in London. In 1923 the 9th Earl of Jersey inherited the property and opened its doors to the public for the first time in 1939.

Osterley Park has been owned by the National Trust since 1949. In addition to visiting the house, the gardens and the large park (with three lakes) offer extensive leisure opportunities. The nearest underground station is Osterley .
