Osterstetten is a district of Langenau in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg .

The hamlet , which belongs to the Albeck district, is about two and a half kilometers west of Albeck.

history

The place was first handed down in 1143. Osterstetten seems to have emerged from a single farm, which was probably the successor to the former Roman estate, the ruins of which can still be seen today north of the current settlement.

In 1887 a Roman settlement with a manor house, barn, servants' house and bath house was excavated there.

In the late Middle Ages , one of the then three courtyards belonged to a castle, which was surrounded by walls and moats. This was destroyed in 1704 and 1707, later rebuilt and finally demolished at the end of the 18th century.
