Ostfriesischer Korngenever is a genever produced exclusively in Ostfriesland .

Components

The East Frisian Korngenever is made from grain distillate or grain distillate, "malt wine" ( Moutwijn in Dutch ; at least 1.5% based on the pure alcohol content of the finished product) and juniper berries. Depending on the manufacturer, however, other ingredients come into play, such as coriander , caraway or rosemary . If necessary, other natural flavoring substances and flavoring extracts can also be used. Water is used to reduce the drinking strength.

taste

The taste of the East Frisian Korngenever is described as soft, harmonious, subtle to strong like juniper , possibly slightly like other herbs or spices.
