Ostkaka

Ostkaka ( Swedish cheesecake ) is a Swedish cheesecake that has its roots in Hälsingland and Småland . The cake is traditionally eaten warm or lukewarm with jam and cream , fruit or ice cream .

Ostkaka is made by adding rennet to milk. In addition to letting casein clot. Then the cake is baked in the oven and served warm.

Since 2004, the day of the Ostkaka has been celebrated in Sweden every year on November 14th . It was introduced and made known by the Ostkakans vänner (Friends of the Ostkaka), a non-profit organization that was founded in spring 2003.
