East wind is the geographic - meteorological name for a wind that comes from east wind directions .

In Central Europe , easterly winds are mostly dry and cold in winter, and mostly dry and warm in summer because they come from the continental core of Europe. East winds are connected with continental, mostly stable highs , so that easterly wind phases represent long-lasting and spacious nice weather conditions. Low pressure eddies approaching from the Atlantic are held up in Western Europe or pushed to the north.
