Oswald Valentine Sickert

Oswald Valentine Sickert (* 1871 , † 1923 ) was a British businessman and author . He was the son of the Danish-German painter Oswald Sickert . The painters Walter Sickert and Bernhard Sickert were his brothers.

Sickert studied at Cambridge , where he helped set up a weekly magazine, the Cambridge Oberserves . During this time a friendship developed with Bertrand Russell . He also worked as a business traveler for the Encyclopædia Britannica ; he headed the trade department.

Sickert published under the pseudonym Oswald Valentine the important novel Helen , a character study of the late Victorian era.
