Oswald Wolff
Johannes Oswald Wolff (born April 11, 1855 in Nordhausen ; † after 1906) was a German high school teacher and classical philologist .
After attending grammar school in Wittenberg, Oswald Wolff studied classical philology at the University of Leipzig from 1874 to 1879 under Justus Hermann Lipsius , where he also received his doctorate in 1884 . In 1879 he passed the state examination and then became a provisional, later permanent senior teacher at the Progymnasium in Meißen . Easter 1885 he became a teacher at the grammar school in Chemnitz . Like numerous other high school teachers, he wrote articles for Wilhelm Heinrich Roscher's Detailed Lexicon of Greek and Roman Mythology .
