Otakar Božejovský

Otakar Božejovský , also Otakar Božejovský by Rawennoff (born April 18, 1948 in Prague ) is a Czech publisher.

Life

Božejovský emigrated to Switzerland after the Russian invasion in 1968. In 1973 he founded the children's book publisher Bohem Press in Zurich together with Štěpán Zavřel . The publisher published picture books in 68 languages ​​and received prizes and awards. He also exhibited the originals of his artists in museums.

In 1988 he received the Venetian Lion, the city of Venice's award for cultural merit.

In 1999 he founded the "Gallery for Modern Art" in Zurich.

Božejovský now lives in Prague and northern Italy. He has been married to Susanne Zeller since 1994.

As an author he published the work "Modern Children's Book Illustrators Europe" in 1982.
