Othmar Danesch

Othmar Danesch (born October 31, 1919 - † May 5, 2014 ) was an Austrian nature photographer . Its botanical author's abbreviation is " O.Danesch ".

Life

Danesch was originally an architect, became a dedicated photographer and is known for botanical research in the field of evolution . He spent many years in South America with his wife Edeltraud . On their travels, the couple collected impressions and pictures of the fauna and flora there. It did research on orchids and butterflies .

From the end of the 1950s the couple published specialist orchid literature; Edeltraud Danesch wrote the texts and Othmar Danesch created the photographs.

He lived in Göfis , Vorarlberg , where he is also buried.
