Othmar Ruby

Othmar Ruby (born June 8, 1951 ) is a former Austrian motocross driver.

At the age of 16 he became a works driver for the Puch company in Graz. From 1969 to 1973 Ruby was Austrian national champion four times in a row in the 125 cc class in motocross. In 1973 he was able to qualify for the Motocross World Championship, where he reached third place. In late 1974 to 1975 he left Puch and did a probationary year with Honda. In 1976, after a long period of consideration, he decided in favor of KTM and again won all races in class 125 from Steyr to Wolfsberg. But was thrown out of the races again and again due to persistent defects and could not be Austrian champion this year. Then Ruby Othmar decided to end his career as a motocrosser. After his professional career, he won several amateur cups.

Ruby now runs a trading company for office supplies in the community of Groß near Hollabrunn .

After retiring from motorsport, he married Rosi Holzer, with whom he had a son Marco in 1993.
