The move to Ottawa was on January 2, 1976. The team should be taken over by the "Founders Group".

The response from the spectators was high and one of the two games in the Ottawa Civic Center was even attended by 9500 spectators. But the "Founders Group" did not manage to pay the required sum, and so after only 15 days on January 17th the final end for the team, which had also competed in Ottawa in the jerseys and with the logo from Denver . After just eight months, the history of the Spurs / Civics franchise in the WHA ended. They were the first franchise in the history of the WHA that had to stop playing during the current season.
