Ottenburg (Belgium)

Ottenburg is a village in the Flemish part of Belgium in the province of Flemish Brabant and is located near the inner-Belgian French-Dutch language border. Ottenburg is a sub-municipality of Huldenberg and has about 2000 inhabitants.

The landscape around Ottenburg is characterized by slight elevations with fields and pastureland. There are also wooded areas. The varied landscape makes the area around Ottenburg very interesting for hikers and cyclists.

Attractions

Ottenburg is a rural village and has several farms, some of which are listed. In addition, the Sint-Nicolaas church with a walled cemetery is to be mentioned. Furthermore, the area must be named 'de Tomme', which is a man-made hill and today a protected area of archaeological importance. This hill is 120 m long, 25 m wide and more than 3 m high and has not yet revealed all of its secrets. The exact age of this monument or who built it for what purpose is still unknown.
