The Warner Park Sporting Complex is a sports complex in Basseterre on the Antilles island of St. Kitts in the island state of St. Kitts and Nevis .

building-costs

Taiwan contributed $ 2.74 million to the total construction cost of $ 12 million . The costs were divided equally between the cricket and soccer parts.

International cricket

Cricket matches are played in the eastern part of the complex, the Warner Park Stadium . There are 4,000 seats there. For larger events, the offer can be expanded to up to 10,000 seats. The West Indies and India played the first match in Warner Park . On May 23, 2006 they met in a One-Day International . The first test cricket match followed on June 22, 2006 on the same tour . At the 2007 Cricket World Cup , six preliminary round matches took place in Warner Park.

National cricket

The stadium has been used by the Leeward Islands since 1962 in the Regional Four Day Competition and WICB Cup . The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots franchise has been playing its home matches in the Caribbean Premier League since 2015 .

Soccer

The football stadium with 3,500 seats is located in the western part of Warner Park.

Other sports facilities

In the northern part there are three tennis courts , three places for netball and volleyball and an area for carnival events. There is also the "Len Harris Cricket Academy", which was founded in 1976 by St. Kitts cricketer Len Harris (1934-2006).
