The Otth family was a Bernese patrician family that had owned the city of Bern's citizenship rights since 1617 and belonged to the guild society of butchers . The family died out in 1874 with Heinrich Gustav Otth.

The Otth were originally citizens of Basel . The scribe Heinrich Otth (II.) (1593–1629) came from Basel to Bern and in 1617 received the Bernese citizen law. He accepted the society's room law for butchers . In 1618 he married Susanna Blauner. Otth worked as a substitute for Seckelschreibererei. His son Heinrich Otth (III.) Was also active in the Seckel writing business. He in turn had three sons: Andreas Otth (1647–1702), pastor, Hans Jakob Otth (1649–1713), magistrate and Hans Heinrich (1651–1719), also pastor. The next generations produced more clergymen, magistrates and officers (Savoy, Holland, Piedmont). The Otth gave the Venner to butchers twice .
