Bartholomäus Sarburgh
Bartholomäus Sarburgh (* around 1590 in Trier ; † after 1637 ) was a German painter .
Life
Sarburgh may have trained with Jan Anthoniszoon van Ravesteyn in The Hague . From 1620 to 1623 he is documented with numerous works as a portrait painter in Bern . In 1631 he stayed in Cologne and from 1632 he is documented as court painter in The Hague. Around 1637 he copied Hans Holbein's Madonna from Darmstadt .
Works from his hand are now in the Historical Museum of Basel , in the Historical Museum of Bern , in Jegenstorf Castle and in Oberhofen Castle and Castle La Sarraz (Vaud).
