Otto-Hubert Kost

Otto-Hubert Kost (born October 7, 1929 in Dresden ; † October 31, 2015 in Hanover ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and theologian.

Life

Kost studied theology and Catholic canon law in Berlin, Heidelberg and Göttingen until 1954. He was ordained on April 13, 1958 and was a pastor in Winsen (Luhe) from 1962 to 1966 . In 1966 he was referred to the Office for Community Service of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover to work (from 1967 as pastor of the regional church). In 1970 he took up a position as second pastor at the Christ Church in Hanover. On November 1, 1994, he retired.

Since 1983 Kost had a teaching position in the Faculty of Education I at the University of Hanover . In 1994 he became an honorary professor there. He wrote works on religious-philosophical and church-historical topics.
