Otto Barsch-Olichschläger

Otto Theodor Julius Barsch-Olichschläger , usually Otto Barsch for short (born March 9, 1884 in Stettin , † after 1935) was a German engineer who specialized in engine plow construction.

Life

He was the son of the Stettin merchant Theodor Barsch and his wife Luise nee Moritz. His ancestors included the Klevian landmaster Heinrich Barsch called Olichschläger and the chancellor of the same name. After attending grammar school, Otto Barsch studied at the engineering school. He was employed as a designer at Hentschel & Co. in Berlin . On July 1, 1910, he became a designer and operations manager at the Märkische Motorpflugfabrik in Berlin. As such, he built the first German rigid motorized plow (tractor) and then became a test engineer at Stock-Motorpflug Aktiengesellschaft. In 1925 he worked in the Ministry of Agriculture in Budapest and from 1928 to 1929 at the Agricultural Machinery Institute at the University of Halle . Then he moved to the forest machine factory in Freiberg, Saxony, as operations manager . He held the title of chief engineer.
