Otto Holfelder

Otto Holfelder (born August 12, 1902 in Nöschenrode ; † January 3, 1980 in Wiesbaden ) was a German mechanical engineer and engine expert.

Born as the son of a chief physician in Wernigerode, he studied at the TH Dresden , where he also completed his habilitation. In 1934, at the age of 32, he became director of the engine institute of the Aviation Academy Berlin-Gatow and professor at the TH Berlin . From 1952 to 1961 he took on a position as head of department at the Sulzer Brothers AG in Winterthur , where he was responsible for the development of diesel engines.
