Otto Kunz (journalist)

Otto Kunz (* 1887 in the Zurich Oberland ; † February 9, 1952 in Biel ) was a Swiss journalist .

Life

Kunz was a teacher and later a federal correspondent . From 1926 to 1935 he was an editor at the Thurgauer Arbeiterzeitung in Arbon and from 1935 to 1944 at the Free Central Switzerland . From 1944 he worked as an editor for the Seeländer Volksstimme .

Kunz stood up for the journalist and writer Felix Fechenbach , who was persecuted by the National Socialists and who was murdered in 1933. Kunz was also a personal friend of the later Austrian Federal President Franz Jonas . In 1946/47 he organized an aid campaign for the Viennese working-class district of Floridsdorf in Biel .
