Otto Merten

Otto Merten (born December 7, 1874 in Vehlefanz , † after 1939) was a teacher, ministerial director and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Merten studied philology and economics in Berlin.

From December 1904 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Magdeburg 3 ( Jerichow I , Jerichow II ) and the Free People's Party . Between 1913 and 1920 he was director at the commercial and industrial vocational school in Berlin and from 1920 auxiliary worker in the provincial school college in Berlin. From 1922 he was a government and trade school councilor in Potsdam and then in Berlin. From 1924 to 1932 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament for the German Democratic Party , which later became the German State Party. From 1929 he was Ministerialdirektor in the Prussian Ministry of Commerce as head of Department IV Commercial Education. Between 1929 and 1932 he was also Prussia's deputy representative to the Reichsrat . He was given temporary retirement in 1932 and retired in 1933.
