Otto Saltzmann

Otto Saltzmann (born May 14, 1884 in Essen , † December 5, 1965 in Holzhausen ) was a German actor .

Life

Otto Saltzmann received his training at the University of Music in Berlin and from Albert Fischer . After starting out in Hamburg, Königsberg, Münster and the Komische Oper Berlin , he came to the Städtische Bühnen Leipzig in 1920 , to which he belonged for about 40 years and which made him an honorary member in 1959.

Saltzmann worked in front of the camera for the first time at the age of 70 and made his film debut in the DEFA strip Kein Hüsung based on the story by Fritz Reuter . Ten years later he was seen in various DEFA and German TV radio productions , his last role he played in the children's book adaptation Lütt Matten und die white mussel .

Otto Saltzmann died at the age of 81 in Holzhausen, a current district of Leipzig.
