Otto Sibum

Heinz Otto Sibum (born March 29, 1956 ) is a German science historian and professor at Uppsala University .

Life

Sibum received his doctorate in 1989 from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and completed his habilitation in 2001 at the TU Braunschweig . From 1991 to 1995 he was Research Associate at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge. From 1998 to 2007 he was Research Director at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science . in Berlin . In 2007 he took over the Hans Rausing Professorship at Uppsala University .

In 2008 he worked at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris and in 2010 at the Si-Mian Center for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the East China Normal University in Shanghai .
