Tiril Günther Merg (born September 2, 1993 in Bærum , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player .

Career

Merg played at Helset IL until 2010. After the backcourt player then played for Stabæk Håndball , she moved to Glassverket IF in 2012 . With Glassverket she took part in the European Cup Winners' Cup , the EHF Cup and the EHF Champions League . In the summer of 2017 she joined the Danish first division club Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub . In the 2018/19 season she played for the Norwegian first division club Skrim Kongsberg . Merg has been under contract with Larvik HK since the 2019/20 season . With Larvik, she rose to the top Norwegian league in 2020. Merg scored 77 goals in 19 second division games in the promotion season.

Merg appeared 6 times for the Norwegian youth national team and 35 times for the Norwegian junior national team. In 2011 she took part in the U-19 European Championship and in 2012 the U-20 World Championship . In October 2012 Merg played two games for the Norwegian B national team. For Norway she took part in Beach Handball Euro 2019 .
