Otto Wichmann

Otto Gottfried Wichmann (born March 25, 1828 in Berlin , † March 17, 1858 in Rome ) was a German genre and portrait painter .

Life

Wichmann was a son of the sculptor Ludwig Wichmann and was trained as a painter by 1851 at the latest in the studio of Joseph Nicolas Robert-Fleury in Paris. From autumn 1852 Wichmann stayed in Rome, where he also died. In 1852/53 he took part in the Paris Salon , in 1856 in the Berlin Academy Exhibition.
