Otto von Rohr (singer)
Otto von Rohr (born February 24, 1914 in Berlin ; † July 15, 1982 in Leonberg ) was a German opera singer with a bass voice .
Life
After studying at the Berlin Music Academy with Hermann Weißenborn , he made his debut at the Duisburg City Theater in 1938 as Sarastro in the Magic Flute . He stayed there until 1941 and was then engaged at the State Opera in Stuttgart between 1941 and 1979 . He performed there until his death. Rohr also had a contract with the Städtische Bühnen in Frankfurt am Main in his early years and with the Vienna State Opera in his later years .
